Not Dead Yet

Posted by Agelmar on Mar 6, 2006 -- 09:21:51 PM

For those who are just now coming to the site, it is worth noting that few updates are still being made. That does not mean that the site is totally dead. The forums are still active, and we are working on plans to revive the content of the site. Please be patient while we do this, and in the meantime visit the forums.

"Going Through The Gametypes"

Posted by SpaceDominator on Aug 22, 2002 -- 10:20:39 AM

I figured since SC:M has been defunct with news for a little while that I might as well create a little. In the world of StarCraft there are types of StarCraft that you've probably heard of, but have never tried. Simply put, hundreds of people don't go out into the world of Battle.Net and create a game of 15 minute slaughter because quite frankly no one will join them. It is sad. Your experience as a SC player is never complete without playing at least one game on each of the different gametypes. It's like playing Diablo II, but only as one class.

For the next two days, tonight at 7:00 PM EDT in the channel Clan LGN(on East) and tomorrow night at 8:00 PM EDT in the same channel, I will be hosting games along with others on these different game types, such as Sudden Death, Team CTF, CTF, Slaughter and Greed.

Hope to see you tonight or tomorrow,
SpaceDominator

More Mania

Posted by Dhavok on Jul 29, 2002 -- 05:32:03 PM

Last week at Map Mania we had a nice turnout, with some old friends popping in. It was nice to "see" GeLaar, FBS and Staind again. On Thursday, August 1 we'll be doing it again at 9 PM, on US East, in channel "Clan SC:M". The maps I'd like to hit this thursday are: (6)Twisted Pathways, by Bobo., (8)Tyrax, by Bilstein, and (6)Burnt Ruins by MikeLemmer. If there's time and interest, I'd also like to try one of my maps, either (8)Chau Sara or (8)Elimination.

Remember, y'all can save some playing time if you download the maps before game night. All you have to do is click the "Scums" button at the top of the page to start finding the maps.

[GG99]Slayer Replays!

Posted by Staind on Jul 26, 2002 -- 02:20:30 PM

GG99Slayer is one of the top random players (He plays specific match ups) in BroodWar history. I've uploaded 11 different match ups of him, both losing and winning. You can check out the replay database here, or Slayer section here.

On a side note, I've just gotten my BroodWar CD back thanks to Agelmar, and I've decided to devote my time to it instead of Replay / News etc. Thanks guys for the great times at SC:M.

Reviews and Reminder

Posted by Dhavok on Jul 24, 2002 -- 12:53:44 PM

I just finished posting four map reviews. The Blizzard map, (5)Rosewood, Bilstein's (8)Kullpa Ther, 13thLegion's (4)Barren Canyon, and my map (2)Spin Cycle.

You can access them off the SCUMS page, in the same place you can download the maps. All four are in PDF format. Let me know what you think.

Also, don't forget about Map Mania this Thursday. There's and older News post and a thread in the Forums if you're interested.

World Cyber Games Controversy Brewing

Posted by Agelmar on Jul 24, 2002 -- 12:51:49 AM

A controversy is brewing over the allotment of positions for the World Cyber Games. Many people feel that the USA and Canada are being discriminated against, as countries such as China, Korea, and Sweeden have 3,3, and 2 seats respectively, whereas the USA and Canada have only 1 and 0 seats, respectively, even though they are both highly ranked. Even the Netherlands and Australia have more seats than the USA and Canada, and both of these countries are ranked below the USA and Canada. Redcloak from SC:Legacy has started a petition, we encourage you to sign up on it to show that this is not fair. Sign up here.

Warcraft Millennium is OPEN

After a slight delay, Warcraft Millennium is finally open, with strategies from SpaceDominator, Ranger, Agelmar, and many more on the way. There are a ton of screenshots in the database, there is a fully searchable maps section headed by Styadel, the mad Australian, and the web's first fully-searchable Warcraft III replay database, with public uploads of replays, maps, and strategies, among other things. There will be a tournament near the end of the week, and also starting later this week, Warcraft Millennium will offer free hosting for clan websites. Check it out at http://www.wcmillennium.com
